Moving to Gold Coast !
We are looking to move to the Gold Coast area at the end of this year/early 2013. I will be looking to work at either Robina or Gold Coast hospital. Any ideas where we should live? My husband & I have 4 children - nearly 5, 2 & 10 month old twins. My nearly 5 will be starting school, so would love somewhere with good schools without breaking the bank. We will be renting initially, so we can get a feel for the place. Any help with be much appreciated!
Moving to the Gold Coast is awesome! You will love it and never look back. Nerang is a good family town, it is conviently located right next to the highway so will be quick access to shoot down the highway to Robina (I am going there tomorrow for shopping at Robina town centre which is huge) or straight down Nerang-Southport Rd to the Gold Coast Hospital (which is where both my boys were born) Nerang has everything you need in grocery stores, 2x Coles, Woolies and Aldis. All the banks and fantastic comunity services. My boys are still at daycare but will be going to Nerang State School. There are free family fun days regulary and farmers markets every Sunday. I dont know about the rental market at the moment but you can buy a great house with yard and pool for around 400thousand. Goodluck Peta1978 I am Kim1978, not my user name. My husband and I moved here in 2000 and have made a great life for ourselves.
Thanks Blisful (Kim1978 - a good year) for your information. I was hoping that a local would be able to help more than some google search! I'll look at Nerang.

Hi, we moved here a few weeks ago and love it. We rent in Oxenford but will be looking at buying in Helensvale, Parkwood or Arundal. Parkwood is where the near GC hospital will be located by the end of the year and still very close to the motorway for a quick trip to Robina.
Local schools are great (Helensvale has a good rep) plus close to everything.
Goodluck and all the best for the move.
