Am i reading right, Slut walk? Im not getting it
Slut Walk?!? Haven't heard of this LOL sounds interesting blink blink
looks like it just say it doesn't matter how you dress you should get respected so dress as a slut to support them or something along those lines

I like the idea behind it, I just think it could be more appropriately named so more people would want to be involved and support it.
The word slut to me isn't about how someone dresses...........

The idea is that noone should be blamed for sexual assault.
And the word "slut" is completely derogatory. Why does it even exist? Why are women called "slut" to imply something terrible linked simply to sexual promiscuity? Why are women targeted in such a way?
So it is a walk against sexual violence, and to say it is really irrelevant that someone may be considered a "slut" or not. (Also kind of making fun of the word "slut", because it is really just a word people throw about in an attempt to undermine a woman)
It is about empowering women, because most women who suffer sexual assault do not report it, due to the stigma that it must have been their fault.
I agree Rosie Mumma if the name was changed more people would support it -- but it is really about empowering those who participate, and I think empowering younger women who will get involved with the vivacity of it -- so that hopefully this idea of rape and sexual assault being the woman's fault, will disappear. I believe younger women having been exposed to events such as this are much more likely to NOT blame themselves for sexual assaults.
