We will be moving from Port Hedland to the Rockingham area, I am here looking at rentals at the moment. Does anyone know any good playgroups anywhere close by? I have a 18 month old and 3 year old =) Its my first time to Perth and I dont really know anyone at all!! And my husband will be doing fly in fly out so Im going to need some adult company lol.

Hi there, can't really help you with the playgroup side of things haha but just wanted to say hi and welcome to Perth!! My husband does FIFO aswell (in Karratha) so if you ever need some one to chat with or anything feel free to pm me grin

Heyy, Warnbro is a nice area, better than Calista I believe lol. FIFO has it's moments, really depends on the roster though, my hubby is doing 3&1 at the moment so it's a long time for him to be away but we know it's for the best in the long run!! I've been telling him to find a residential job actually, wouldn't mind a change of scenery... But until then we just manage the best we can, it can be really hard being apart for 3 weeks and I feel like a single mum most of the time, but when he's here we have so much fun and get to spend 24/7 together for the week...

Yeah I definately like Warnbro more from what I've seen.. From what we know at the moment it will be 4 & 1 =S So its going to be tough! I will probably not last too long lol and end up trying to convince him to move here too. But like you said, we know its best for the long run!! Cant really beat the Pilbara $$ huh! How old are your kid or kids lol?

Ohhh 4&1 would suck lol at least it pays good and hopefully you won't have to do it forever! You will have to find lots of things to do to keep you busy... What does he do?

I have a 2.5yr old daughter and I'm 31 weeks pregnant with a boy (that should be interesting haha)

At least you know what to expect when he's away so it won't be too much of a shock! We have been thinking about relocating to Brisbane lol maybe not anymore though after everything that's happened there of late... It gets so lonely when they are away hey, I get sooo bored after my daughter has gone to bed, but I guess in another couple of months I will have my hands full again haha

My hubby is a safety advisor, and he's also enrolled in uni for this year to do a masters in occ health safety and ergonomics so will be good once he finishes that in a couple of years time, then he can get a job in Perth making what he makes working away yaaay laugh

So when are you planning to move down? As soon as you find something or later in the year? Was there any reason you chose around Rockingham? Haha sorry for all the questions!!

Oh I should mention, Rockingham has a really lovely beach, we go down there most weekends when it's warm enough... No waves and the water is crystal clear so perfect for the kiddies!

I had just heard Rockingham was a really nice area so just decided on it lol! What suburb are you in? Thats so good hes got something that will eventually lead to him being out of the Pilbara (can you tell im not a big fan lol). I went past the beach the other day its looks gorgeous! Cant wait to take the kids there =) How are you finding being pregnant in the heat? I was lucky I was pregnant both times in NZ and it wasnt during the hot seasons mostly! Does your daughter go to daycare at all? I like having my 3yr old in daycare so he can mingle a bit lol, gonna have to try and find a good one here for him.

You're game driving down haha I don't think I would want to spend that much time in the car with little ones!! We live in Aubin Grove, it's up around Cockburn/Beeliar if you know where that is...?

Very sick of being pregnant in the heat actually, can't wait til it's all over and I can be comfortable again... My daughter goes to daycare 2 days a week, she absolutely loves it and has learnt so much from being there! She goes to a centre on Rockingham Rd actually lol

Well, we've moved lol! Moving into our new place tomorrow =) Its in Warnbro, but not the one that I thought it would be lol. I have no idea where those places are but then I hardly know where any places are around here lol. I ended up flying down with one of my boys and hubby drove with the other. I'll PM you my number, it'd be great to get to know someone =) Hubbys leaving again on Monday, so I'll have loads of free time lol. Not looking forward to being on my own, but so glad to be out of Hedland!
