Dr Jensen for Circumcision Rss

ok so my family dr has referred me to dr Jensen today to see about my sons Penis problems. i want to get him circumcised to fix the problem but my family dr didnt want it to come to that yet but is sending me to jensen.

my son will be 4 in 6 weeks and for quite some time now he has been complaining that his penis is sore. i took him to the dr and he mentioned that his foreskin is very tight and that he also has alot of extra foreskin (even with a little toddler erection boys get his foreskin still goes about 1cm over the head of his penis) the dry has also mentioned that by 4 years of age you should at lease be able to pull the foreskin back so that you can see the head of the penis (no forcing just being gentle) well we tried all the creams.. and they didnt help at all. as soon as we stopped using them (after using it for 4 months straight) it just went straight back to how it was. i dont want to have to do it but i dont want him to have issues when he is older and every male i talk to about it cringes and both my partner and my father have taken a look and they told me that it may cause him alot of pain when he is older.

i just wanted to ask what are your experiences with Jensen and also another question how much did it cost you. i only have a medicare card and centrelink pension card i dont have any private health and such.

any information is helpful

p.s. any people that want to be all anti circumcision just DONT bother replying to this. im sick of hearing about it. i am doing what i believe is right for my sons health
I understand your concerns. Our son is in the same boat. He is 4 a couple of months.

I know nothing about Dr Jensen, but our highly regarded paediatrician told us that our son is perfectly normal & for some boys, the foreskin does not retract until they are 7 years old or older.

He also mentioned that he would be happy to circ our son if that is what we wanted, BUT it would have to be done under the private system. In SA, not sure about nationwide, you cannot get a circumcision done in the public system.

We don't want to have him circ'd if it is not necessary & we have no private health cover. Even if we had the cover, we would still be waiting for a few more years to see how he goes.

Our paed also told us not to let anyone but our son try to retract the foreskin. That includes drs, specialists etc & even the paed himself wouldn't do it.

My nephew can also retract his & has been able to for some time. He is a little older than our son.

They all develop differently. Obviously the decision is yours, but hope the information I've given is helpful. Good luck. smile
Where in Tas are you?
Im in Hobart and my DS3 is seeing a specialist at the Royal it doesn't cost me anything and if he needs to be circ'd it wont cost me either.
