I don't think this is very friendly vkw, she only posted in two spots it just seemed to double up in the recent topics.....
This poor girl sounds lonely and looking for support and i don't think this was the way to do it.

sincere apologies, just it seems to be the only topic listed in the right section>>
I truly hope you enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy, perhaps some antenatal classes will help you find some people in the same stage of life as you.

Hi,
i am not a young mum ( i am 30) but i have 2 young children and i am up for a chat or advice whenever you need it...
We have moved around alot in the last few years, so we never had friends or family around when my boys were born and it can be a very lonely time, i hope you meet some nice people soon but i know it can be hard when your expecting to even want to get out to meet people.
When bub is born hopefully you can get onto a mothers group, i did and still have friends from my first son's group.
Cheers
Cass

Hey, not in your area but my suggestion would be to find some other expecting mummy's, perhaps at anenatal class or another suggestion is join an ABA (australian breastfeeding association) group, they do pre-birth classes and you get the advantage of meeting other expectant mums and also have built up a good relationship with an ABA counsellor before your bub is born, should you have any issues in the feeding (this is of course assuming you are intending to try breastfeeding)

I know how you feel, I was 21 when I had my baby and was the only one of my friends with a bub so I was antisocial for the weeks leading up to my daughters birth and then I joined a mums group and met some lovely ladies. Have remained friends with a couple of them

Sorry to hear u r feeling lonely, it's tough when u r pregnant and in a new place! Like vkw said maybe u may b able to make friends with women from your pre-natal classes? Or hopefully u will meet some great ladies in your mothers group, though obviously that won't happen for a few months yet. The only other thing I can think of is maybe join a pregnancy yoga class? I met a couple of nice mums to be in my pregnancy yoga classes, we still catch up for coffee! Good luck darl, hope u make some friends soon, it sux not having girl friends close by, pregnant or not!

Hi there,
did you know there is a pregnancy and young parent support group run in Launcston. It is on Thursdays and I think they usually meet at womens health on york st. Look up PYPS Launceston and you should get a contanct number.
