Pretty sure coleslaw is out, unless you make it fresh yourself. Assume pasta salad would be the same.
You could take a can of tuna, as exciting as that sounds.
I was in this situation when pregnant and took tuna and freshly made salads and yummy bread.

you could cook ur own meats and take it with you. As long as is it stored correctly and eaten within 16 hours of cooking they say it is ok. I have read in a few places to avoid pre-packed pasta and potato salads and coleslaws. I think its because most contain Mayo(possibly with raw egg)but that might not be the reason.
Maybe take some hard cheeses, or a fruit platter.

i used to cook my own chicken kebabs/wings etc before i left the house, and make my own pasta/potato salad etc like you said smile that way i never felt like i was missing out and knew it was all fresh... and fresh bread rolls are always yummy too!
pasta and tuna salad with mixed with olive oil, lemon juice, shallots, capers, red kidney beans...I don't know what else...just making it up as I go
