midwife?????????? Rss

hi
im going to be a first time mummy, i was wondering if anyone can recommend a midwife in town??
Thanks
Depends on where in town you are. With this pregnancy I have Megan Lawrence of Halswell Village midwives, she is great and I have heard good things about the other midwives there also. I was not happy with the midwife I had with DS . I just looked online and in the phone book to find ones close to home and rang around.

Good luck finding one and congrats on the pregnancy.

Marion is my mum so I highly recommend her! grin

My toddler rides rear facing! It's 5 TIMES safer in an accident than a forward facing car seat, and cradles the delicate neck and spine. Click the link below to read more about the safety benefits, your child deserves it!

Hi There,
My MW was Anne O'Connor from Midwifery Associates - she was an amazing supportive midwife!

Quality Care Midwives in Fendalton on Memorial Ave across from New World.
They have three teams of 3 and I had them both times. They are lovely. The team system is in place to ensure you know your midwife on the day of delivery.
Congratulations, by the way. Take care of yourself and start the preggo vitamins right away if you haven't already. smile

Rachael Milner - Halswell Village Midwifes...
Had her for my first DD (18/02/2010) and I am having her for DS (28/08/2011)

Any of the Domino ladies, We mainly use Del but also had dealing with Jayne and Elizabeth

No offence i had Tanya McConaghey in 2008/2009 and she was over run and when i bled out twice she told me to stay at home. didnt come to check me or anything. Turns out my ex had cheated on me and given me an STD twice which I NEEDED to be treated for or it could cause defects to an unborn baby. She was also told on the ex's side of teh family the males all tend to have heart defects so when i had my scan to depect the sex of bubs and found out i was having a boy she wouldnt allow any more scans. i was scared being my first and with 2 kids being born in teh past 2 years on his side of teh family both with heart defect and now a 3rd since him which the bub is in and out for surgery all the time i think she needed to listed to my concerns more and actually look into the family history other than telling me "its your baby and he will take after you not the father"..... Changed to Catherine Reitveld at 37 weeks, had my son Keran at 38 weeks who was 5lb 14 and didnt breath as he was born. fast delivery and i really dont think Tayna wouldve been successful at helping me in birth.

Just a word of advise, you may want to be careful what you say about the above midwife. Im not saying what you have said isn't true but this forum is in the public domain and the midwife in question may not see things the way you have. It could be considered slander in a court of law.

Just a heads up smile
I have Vicki de Grut from Halswell Village Midwives, and she is lovely and really supportive!
