My niece Kylie is getting married tomorrow. YAY! It only seems like yesterday she was just a little girl. She is now 25 years old with 2 children. She is getting married in Tasmania. Her fiance's family live there. Kylie lives in Western Australia. I am so looking forward to seeing some pics on Facebook
Anyone late 30's and TTC?

Julie ~ We just finished dinner. I thought I would jump online while DH washes up. Yes he washes up every night. Lucky me! We had fish with tartar sauce, mashed potato & creamy bacon carbonara. Once again, not exactly Masterchef material but it was nice. We had diet jelly for dessert. Luke has fallen asleep on the lounge again, grrr. He will probably wake up around 7.30ish, full of beans! DH watches the footy on a Friday night. I am hoping the littlies will go to sleep early so I can watch New Moon. Man I love that movie, haha. Good luck with Ethan's hearing test. I think they are doing Jack's test on Tuesday. It will be interesting to see what the outcome is. He wants me to take him to the Tip tomorrow morning. He wants to try and get a skateboard from Recycle Land so he can do it up. When I say do it up I mean give it a spray paint. He is quite artistic. He has been doing some sketches lately of tattoos. DH is getting a tattoo soon. If I can pluck up the courage I will be getting one too. Gulp! Jack is quite artistic. Us Aquarians are supposed to be artistic!

Where is everyone? I am the only one without a life!
Not much happening today. It is a bit hard trying to entertain the kids in this weather. It has been wet & miserable. We have an arrangement with the school that Jack leaves at 12.45 every day. He is still struggling to make whole days. Fun Fun. Hopefully this is only temporary until we can get his medication sorted out. Poor little Luke was crook for a couple of nights with high temps & a nasty cough. He seems a lot better today. We are going to a nice cafe in Wynnum tomorrow for Mother's Group. It will be nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours. They have a nice little play area for the kids. Jack bought a skateboard from K Mart yesterday. He wants to return it because he said it feels like it is going to break. It takes up to 80kg but he said it doesn't feel stable. He is approx 65kgs so he probably is too big for it. We will probably head over there this afternoon. Apart from that not much else is happening.

Hi Ladies
Hope you and yours are all happy & healthy!!
It has been very quiet on here Kathy!!
How's things? Do you have an outdoor area that is undercover for the boys to run around? As a kid we had a big verandah and when it rained used to spend hours making cubby houses with old blankets and sheets...the ping pong table was perfect for making a big cubby! How are you feeling? Hope the cold has gone!! How did Jack's cognitive assessment go?
Only a short one today as whilst we are happy here we aren't entirely healthy! Was home from work yesterday and today...no voice and generally feel like crap! Anna has a cold...lovely streams of snot pouring from her nose, poor darling!
that's all for now
take care

Hi Girls
I am still here.
Sasha has settled in well. She will be 6 weeks on Sunday. I have had the flu for a week now so I am a bit miserable trying to keep up.
I am still trying to do the book work for our business. It is really taking its toll! I feel like DH goes to work and I stay home and worry about the finances all day. Communication with my DH is really hard, especially about finances. It makes me wonder if we have ever spoken in 22 years!!
Goo is asking for a little more attention. Poor little one. It makes me cry when he is upset. What a big change in their life to have a new sibling come home.
We went to the gp yesterday to follow up on some blood tests for Sasha. All seems good with a few things out of balance but nothing alarming.
The DR asked how I was coping, they always check up for PND. I said really well. BUT then driving home I though of Goo, who I had left at mums so I could organise the superannuation for the men at work, and I started crying. I didn't stop till about 9pm last night.
I am too embarrassed to admit I am losing it but I really need some help I think. Just to communicate better with DH would be a great help.
Must go, goo is about to empty the rolled oats onto the carpet

Good afternoon ladies,
Julie ~ Where are you? I hope everyone is well xx
Jatsy ~ Jack's cognitive assessment was cancelled, grr. The school were expecting them to turn up on Tuesday morning and no-one arrived. When they chased them up they were told that it had been cancelled but no-one bothered to inform them. We are waiting now to see what happens next. If the Dept of Ed decides not to do it then we have to go through Griffith Uni. Ho hum! I hope you & Anna are feeling better soon xx
Roz ~ I am really sorry to hear that you are not coping so well. You really need to try and take some time out to have a chat with your husband. Make him listen. Men can be so darn ignorant sometimes. You are doing a wonderful job. Maybe go back to your doctor and have another chat with him. Take care xxx
Things are still fun & games here. Jack knew I was meeting up with friends at Wynnum this morning for playgroup. We had arranged for me to pick him up from school at 12.30. No I get a phone call from the school at 11. Jack has been misbehaving, can you come pick him up, grrrr! I had to leave my morning tea on the table and walk out. It is times like this that makes me feel very emotional. How does the saying go? What doesn't kill us only makes us stronger !!!

thanks for the advice, Kathy. DH has informed me he is taking tomorrow off to help me get on top of things. I hate feeling inadequate but i have 2 beautiful children to look after, if I totally lose it they will suffer as well.
I am not sure how much is too much.
All I want to do at the moment is stay home and watch the kids grow up!!
You are coping so well with Jacks situation. It can't be easy with the 2 little ones as well.
Cheers Roz

Hello Girls,
I just got an sms from Kathy....so I thought I'd better let you know that yes i'm still alive....he he he.
I've had a rough week. Callum got sick last week and he's still full of the flu. Ethan has it now and has bad asthma with it so he's up most nights coughing and weezing. Callum is just downright miserable 24/7. Oh the joys of being a mother. It was nice actually to go to work on Monday and Tuesday as my mum was quite happy to have 2 sick kids. Yay for mums!
Otherwise all is well. Its been busy with work and catching up around the house. We are in the process of considering selling to move to a 2 story so we're trying to keep everything clean and hopefully the agent will be over tomorrow to value. Will keep you posted.
Well Callum is screaming so will say ciao. Sorry its short and sweet. Just wanted to say hi and let you know i'm still here.
Good to hear your all well and sorry Kathy that the cog test got cancelled. Any idea when it will be? I have Ethan's hearing test in 2 weeks and so far his OT thinks its just anxiety that he's suffering. Lets hope so. Watch this space I suppose.
Love to all those little ones. Wish we could do a big catch up...all of us. Anyway if I win the lotto I'll treat you all.
Will drop by tomorrow (hopefully Ethan can go to school).

My goodness everyone, there's so much going on for you all. I really feel for all of you going through hard times, I hope it gets better for you all.
Roz, it really sounds like you need to get yourself some help. Can you talk to your child health nurse? Life's stressful enough with a newborn without all the other stuff you're having to deal with. That's great that DH was taking some time to spend with you, I hope you've managed to talk about it all.
Julie, I agree, thank god for mums! Mine is a life saver, couldn't manage without her I reckon. That's great that your mum could have the boys so you could still go to work. Poor kids being sick, don't you just get so over it all? I can't wait for warm weather and less colds!
Kathy, so sorry that your morning tea was interrupted. Have you got anything on tomorrow to make up for today? Glad to hear your boys are better. How lucky are you that Roy washes up every night?! Then again, so does Pete, but I still have to dry
Jatsy, is this Anna's first daycare cold? How are you both adjusting to your new routine? What's she doing lately? Any more teeth? Sitting? Talking?
We've been busy lately and haven't really had much computer time. That, and the fact that Jacob would sit on the computer all day if I let him? He LOVES the ABC kids website, I have to keep the computer turned off so don't get much of a chance to jump on myself. We went to Jacob's kinder on Monday, he's going to the local catholic school which has a combined kinder/pre-primary. So cute seeing all the little kiddies, it's be interesting to see how Jacob copes come early next year! Some severe separation anxiety I'm sure (and that's just me!).
Benjamin now has 2 teeth, is trying to sit up and is sleeping through as I've dropped his dream feed. He's also a scoffer, he had his lunch today, followed by bf then as I was eating my soup he's sitting there with his mouth open waiting for his share! Hilarious. He should be the size of a house, but is still a tiddler.
Well it's 8.45pm and I'm stuffed so I'm off to bed. Pete is working late tonight, I cooked some pizza and wanted to stay up to put it in the oven just before he got home. Hmm can I last an hour. Might have to cook it now and he can have it lukewarm
Night all, I'm sending lots of happy, positive and healthy wishes all your ways.
Jen xx

Good morning ladies,
Roz ~ I hope you enjoy some quality time with your husband today. Thinking of you xx
Julie ~ Poor little Callum & Ethan. I hope Ethan is well enough to go to school today. Good luck with your agent & valuation. What do you think Ethan is getting anxious about?
Jen ~ I have to agree with you. Bring on the warm weather! I was only thinking about that this morning as I was dressing Luke in his track pants, singlet etc etc. Bring on board shorts & singlets. I have been invited to Lollipops (indoor play centre) today but I might give it a miss. I am taking Jack to the Ekka (Brisbane Show) on the 14th Aug so I better start putting some money aside for that. I might see if DH will be kind enough to mind the boys on the weekend so I can go and do some window shopping. I need to put some money on my lay-bys. Quote: Some severe separation anxiety I'm sure (and that's just me!). LMAO! That cracked me up. You are so funny! Benjamin sounds like he is going great guns. They grow up way too fast don't they?
Well I just dropped Jack off at school. I wonder what today will bring? The sun is shining today. YAY! Hopefully I will be able to get all of my towels dried. We are supposed to be getting a storm this afternoon. They always seem to miss us. I was woken up this morning at 3am by a man outside screaming at the top of his lungs, I don't get a F* anymore! My guess is he was screaming to his girlfriend on the mobile phone. Silly bugger!

Hi Girls,
Hope your all well.
Roz, how is everything going for you? Slowed down yet? I know its easier said than done hey. I find it easier now that Ethan is at school but now Callum is walking its like hard work again...then fitting in work, well that is a completely different ball game. At least it gives me peace and quiet at the office for 8 hours in the day
I hope you have some nice wine on ice for the end of each day
Jen, How did the pizza go? Did you manage to stay up. I'm like you I try and stay up so I can cook something or have something nice and hot for DH when he gets home. Friday is his latest day as its about 8:30 but I got an entertainment book this year and he buys a 2-4-1 takeaway on the way home and we enjoy takeout over a glass of wine. Tonight its Red Rooster
Kathy, The Ekka with Jack sounds good. We are thinking of taking the boys to our local show on Sunday. DH tomorrow has a grading at his martial arts studio and then a family BBQ after which will be nice so we might have a day out on Sunday and get the kids right out of the house for the weekend. Sunday we are also looking at 2 blocks of land so that is exciting too.
Looks like we might be on the move again girls. DH and I really want to get a 2 story house and we are really keen on building exactly what we want and how we want it. We know a really great agent in the area and they are coming over today at 1pm to value our property and then we'll know exactly what we have to play with. The blocks we are keen on are in our area (which is new development) and are right across from an awesome park with bushland, boardwalk, swings, sandpits, flying fox, sails/bbq's etc. The land is far enough back that we wont get the noise but overlook everything so we can sit on our balcony and have a view.
At the moment its just a 'dream' and our wish list but its looking more do-able each day. Wish me luck. As long as the change over is next to nothing....the skies the limit!!!
Well I'd better get a move on. I have dried up spew on the floor which needs cleaning and the floors really need a good mop. Oh the fun!
Have a lovely weekend girls. Will try and drop back.
Julie x
PS. Its so lovely at home today with just one child

Ok Ok Julie you don't have to rub it in !!!!
LOL, Luke has just thrown the BIGGEST tantrum! He refused to get in the bath after getting filthy from being outside. They may be little but gee they can put up a good struggle! He is 90% happy now. He is 'demanding' lunch but the little bugger can wait. LOL. It is unlucky for him that he has a stubborn Mother!
Your future plans sound WONDERFUL! You have a lot to look forward to, you lucky duck. I look forward to hearing all about it.
Ok I better go and make some lunch. Bring on Prep!

Kathy,
There is this thing called Karma and it came back and bit me on the bum today.
I'm having the worst day.
DH went to his tournament and we are supposed to meet him afterward at 2pm. He left this morning at 9am and by 9:05 WWIII had broken loose in the house. Ethan has been to time out too many times to count. What's with the back-chat????? Callum is refusing to sleep so he's like wicked witch of the west.....Ethan has just decided to raid the biscuits after I said no and he thought if he snuck them outside I wouldn't know. He forgot Callum would stand at the door and carry on like a pork chop because he wanted 'out' too.
Ahhhhhh. I don't think we'll be making the tournament later but DH did say that if the kids were good and we didn't go down he would treat us all to sizzler for dinner. Well they have about 7 hours to redeem themselves
Kathy, have you taken the boys to sizzler? I love taking the kids there as they can try lots of different food and someone else cleans up the mess
Gotta love that !
Well Ethan is fading away with hunger so I had better go and get some sandwiches made. Hopefully the little one will go down for a sleep. I need a wine and a sleep also....hey, that sounds like a mighty fine idea!!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend girls xx

Hahaha the joys of Motherhood
We took the boys to the Hyperdome this morning. It was nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours, as a family. We had a look through the shops, had lunch at McDonalds and the boys played in the play centre. We couldn't believe how busy it was. There were people everywhere. I saw a couple of things in The Reject Shop for the boy's Christmas stockings. I will go back when I don't have them with me. I am feeling really tired today. Jack and I watched a movie last night then the Vicar of Dibley was on so I watched that as well. I didn't get to bed until 11.30pm. I made a chicken casserole in the slow cooker but it is not going to be ready until about 7pm. I made the littlies an early dinner because I don't think they will last until 7. Jack has gone to his Nan's house for the night. The silly bugger bought some tattoos today and he stuck approx 30-40 of them all over his chest & neck. He said they felt really tight and he was having problems breathing so I spent approx 15 mins scrubbing them all off with nail polish remover, lol. KIDS!
Talk about defiant kids Julie. Luke can be quite defiant at times. When he gets angry with me he calls me a 'stink butt'. LOL. Cheeky little bugger! Lane is my beautiful placid little man. He is such a good boy. He is getting quite a little character about him now. I love the way he tries to explain things. He is quite the little story teller. He has a good sense of humour as well.

Those tattoo's are not easy things to remove are they. We had the same thing with a packet of those freddo frog ones. I think Ethan wore them to school for about 3 weeks. he he he.
Hey, how do you like your slow cooker? Everyone seems to have one but I wouldn't know where to start with one. Are they just for stews and casserole type dishes??? Sounds like it would be perfect for me on days where I work. But then I suppose I would have to be home first to prepare it all. Unless I have it in the fridge ready to go and get mum to turn it on when she arrives with the kids after school. Mmmm. Let me know Kathy. I actually saw someone advertising a Tiffany brand for $19. Might be worth while to see if I like it first. What is the price of a good one? Also what size would you recommend. I really might look into it.
Well today we are off to look at a couple of blocks of land to see if moving is really what we want to do. Then we might visit Metricon and Plantation and check out their 2 stories.
I really want to take the kids to our local show so we'll have to get out of here by 9am I think. I'm definately not dragging the kids around show homes all day. That would be like adding fuel to a fire.
Anyway, off for my cuppa and off to make some noise to get hubby out of bed....he he he. Why do they get to sleep in????
Will catch up Wednesday on my day off.
Enjoy your Sunday girls. xxxx

Hi ladies,
Wow how a lot goes on in such a short time!!!!!!!!
Hope all the new baby's are behaving themselves and their mummies and daddies are enjoying their new arrivals.
Wow some of you sure are having a rough time at the moment. I wish I had a magic wand to fix everything for people.
We are all good. joseph now 9 months and such a good, happy, loveable "wee" man. Starting to get interested in crawling but he's happy to "swim" around everywhere.
have to run as Joe "calling"
Will come back soon.

Good evening ladies,
I better try and make this quick as our internet connection has been playing up the last couple of days!
Karynne ~ Great to hear from you! Joseph sounds like he is going well. What a lovely age he is at. Does he keep you on your toes already?
Julie ~ I love my slow cooker. Ours is a Kambrook brand, approx 4 litres. I mostly make casseroles & roasts in mine. It cooks your meat so tender, it just melts in your mouth. Woolworths have quite a few Slow Cooker recipe packets available now. They are pretty much the same as the Continental packets. What you need is written on the back of the packet. Easy peasy! I would totally recommend buying one. Good luck with your land & house hunting. It sounds very exciting!
We took the kids to the museum at Southbank today. DH had never been there before. Lane & Luke were fascinated by it all. Luke wasn't too sure about the huge dinosaur when we first arrived. Lane was scared of the huge red back spider. It really freaked him out. We took Jack to Butter Beats. Butter Beats is a record store. They specialise in hard to find records & cds. They also supply urban literature, collectables and clothing. Jack is mostly interested in their spray paint, stickers, magazines etc. I picked up a couple of Christmas ideas for him which was good. We had lunch at Southbank. It was so busy!

Hi Girls
I am feeling a bit better now. I will have a chat with someone but not sure it will help. It is something i have to work out myself.
DH didn't have that day off, something came up at work!!
We are both pretty stressed so I am trying not to add my concerns to his because I think I am over reacting a bit.
We had a nice weekend (sasha and me) with mum and dad at Syndey for a family 21st. children were not invited so Goo and DH did some bonding at home.
It was nice to get away. Home feels stressful cause that is where all the book work is.
All is going well with Sasha.
I have to go now though,
Talk soon

Hi Girls,
Karynne, Great to hear from you. Wow, little Joe is 9 months already. Its been a fast year hasn't it. He'll be turning the big No.1 before you know it. Are you going to do anything special for his first birthday?
Kathy, I'm really interested now in the slow cooker. I didn't know you could get prepared sachets and things for them. I love roasts so I'm sure I could use one on a Sunday arvo. My sister also buys meat in bulk as she lives out west and she rang me today and offered me a heap of meat. Yum...I can smell it cooking now
Well poor little Callum went back to the doctors this morning. My mum took him for me as I had to work. He is on stronger antibiotics and has to go back Thursday. He'll have another day off daycare tomorrow and i've decided I'll only work till lunch time and will then go home. Can't leave it to mum to look after him. Plus I miss the little guy.
DH is off to the airport. Our best friends are off overseas tonight so he's driving them to save cab fare. Plus our kids are the same age so we've got the seats ready to go. Hopefully he'll be home by 7:30 as its steak and vege tonight and I'm mighty hungry.
Hey Kathy, how is your WW going? I had to give it away as you know and I am so disappointed that I gained back what I lost. I'm so annoyed at myself. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
Ethan is being a total pain and keeps pressing the keyboard so will say ciao.
Will drop by Wed. Take care girls.

Good morning ladies,
Roz ~ It sounds like you had a lovely time in Sydney with Sasha and your family. Sometimes it is nice to get away from it all isn't it? You are not alone when it comes to feeling the pressure within your relationship. Children certainly do put a strain on your marriage. We try to do the best that we can but sometimes that just doesn't seem enough, does it? Thinking of you xx
Julie ~ OMG don't talk to me about WW. I weighed myself this morning. I have gained 4kgs! I have been eating ridiculous amounts of junk food lately. I am really disappointed with myself as well. I think because I am still in my 70's I think it is ok to indulge. NO KATHY NO! I am determined to make the 60's before Summer! I hope Callum is feeling better soon. Poor little monkey. Can I adopt your Mum?
Jack was suspended from school yesterday for 5 days. Due to the public holidays, he won't return until Thursday week. I rang the hospital yesterday and I am waiting to hear from the new Psychiatrist (Andre) this morning to make an appointment. Fun, Fun !!
DH is getting his first tattoo this afternoon !!!!!!!

I am sitting here patiently waiting for DH to get home from the tattoo parlour. Can't wait to see it !!!
We have an appointment with the new Psychiatrist on Friday morning. My friend is going to take Lane to the park so I will just have Luke with me. That will make things a lot easier!
I have just been invited over to my friends house for morning tea tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it. She has 2 boys. I think Aaron is approx 7 and Nathan is approx 5.
I just made pancakes for dinner. Mmmmmm
