Just a rant - Tizzie Hall. I have read her book.. she doesnt advocate controlled crying - but then in her book she says let them cry??? What ACTUAL qualifications does this woman hold? NONE. All about money making.... throughout her book go to my web site and purchase wraps, diaries etc..... drives me insane. Newsflash people - some babies cry more than others, I sleep less than my husband but does that mean I should stay in bed and not get out untill 7am??? rant rant,

I know...I love how she states that if her techniques don't work then the parent is doing it wrong! The routines didn't work for me at all, especially the dreamfeed. I just had to stay up later and get less sleep as my daughter still woke at the same time. Having said that I do know people who the routines worked really well for, and good on them. I just get cranky with sleep 'specialists' who seem to think one solution fits all. It doesn't!

Yes I also agree - how can a single routine be suitable for "most" babys?? How can you program them to sleep at certain times, they are humans, not robots. All bubs are different and have different needs when it comes to sleep. I say do what works for you and your bub, not what a book says.

I know she's not for everyone and some people aren't 'routine' people but I found her book a godsend. I am a big Tizzie advocate :) I in no way felt obliged to buy her products however!

Her routines have work a treat for both of my boys!

She has recently released another book for toddlers ... yes, probably another money grabbing exercise but if it works I think its worth it!

I have girlfriends that swear by Tizzie - I tried it & it didn't work for me. Not even the dream feed. Since reading her book (and plenty of others!) I eventually worked out that you just can't put some kids in a routine before they are ready. I'm now a firm believer in just listening to your bub & going with the flow - my DS is almost 20months & has been in a brilliant routine for months! I feel guilty now for spending all that time trying to force him when I could've just been more relaxed & gone with the flow subsequently enjoyed more time with him. Babies have no concept of time, nor can they read the books to understand their part in it, so I say just do your thing. You've discovered it doesn't work for you, so leave it & just do what you feel is right. And there ARE more ways to get your bubby to sleep than to just let them cry :)

I don't know how she can say she doesn't advocate cc, but then advise parents to listen and allow certain crys....AND she makes money from it!
