Hi. Looking for ideas to keep a just turned 2 year old busy during a long car journey. He loves books, but on occassion has been carsick, so would like to avoid these, and activities that include looking down.
We have action songs on CD, and play 'spot the....'. Any other ideas gratefully received.

I spy with colours? No ideas really but my kids both got carsick mostly at dawn and dusk and on windy/mountain roads... I definitely recommend Sea Bands (but they don't really keep them on at that age which was our problem) and Chuckies (same as hospital spew bags) get them from the chemist in a 3 pack (we wash and re-use ours and STILL keep them in the car even though they've not been sick for about 12 -18mths! they are fantastic and don't spill out like a normal bucket etc)

As a kid I used to find that wearing sunnies helped. Don't know why but it worked. Worth a try if he'll wear them.

As someone who STILL gets carsick books are definately the devil lol. So is looking out the side windows. I find looking out the front window helps so maybe make sure he is sitting in the middle seat if you can so he is looking out the front window more than the sides. Maybe go to the chemist and get someting to give him for the sickness.
