hello everyone. 8 days ago i stop breastfeeding which i love doing. due to a hungry baby (17week old) i couldnt keep her happy. so i started her on S26 gold newborn as i kept a box of stick formula in the pantry for back up.
she taking the bottle very well and no problems so far. a girlfriend said to me that i should put her stage two! thats what she's done with her bub thats now 6months. this is her 3rd child and never breastfeed any of her 3 kids. am still sticking with the newborn but how to do know really or just wait til she hits 6months?

if your worried you can always wait till shes 7 months i used the same formula until he turned 1 yr it was a from birth one that you could use up to 1 year and then they recommended to toddler formula. I guess I would say wait till you think shes being really active.

They go from newborn to 6months then 6months to 1 year then the toddler ones. They have different amount of things in them to suit the needs of babies at that specific age IYKWIM?
You change to the next tin at 6months (I waited until the tin I had already was finished- DS2 only had 3 days to go til 6months so I just switched him then rather then getting a new tin of the 0-6months IYKWIM)

Stage 2 has different things in than the 1st step of formula as usually babies start eating solids at 6 months so step 2 coincides with this, you dont have to go onto step 2 if you dont want to, i always did but a friend of mine tried to but her baby didnt go well with the change so she went back to the step 1.
With both my boys, once they were around 6 months of age (give or take a few days) once I finished the step 1 tin I put them onto step 2, i never weaned them onto it or anything and when they were around 1 yrs old I switched them to cows milk, I never used the toddler formula because i dont think its necessary if they are eating properly.
