is natural birth after c section POSSIBLE

i had c section 12yrs ago, then natural birth 16wks miscarriage , now im 23wks pregnant my dr recommends a natural birth full term

wondering if it possible ????

please help

my specialist told me have c section,due to my bicornuate uterus .............since then i have been going to antenatal clinic doctors there told me to try natural birth.................

yes it is possible my first was a emergency c section after being in labour for 2 days i had the works and then this year i had my second boy and i was in labour for 12 hrs then he was here i did not think it was possible but it was and the only bad thing was a tear which healed in no time

  Absolutely yes! I had an emergency C-section with our first that was touch and go for baby.
And with the help of a hypno-birthing course I delivered baby no 2. I never thought it was possible but it is! Good luck. You'll be fine.

Yes absolutely. I had emergency Cser and almost exactly 2 years after gave birth naturally. It was very important for me so I requested it. I was given a pamphlet by the doctors when I asked about it. It was completely unbias (I was not interested in doctor 'opinions' about it) so only really referred to the pamphlet and other information I could find. Both Cser and VBAC (vaginal birth after Cser) have risks and depending on your reason for going Cser the first time it's no more dangerous (statistically) than going for a second Cser. The risks are just a little different.
I've had 4 successful natural births since having my Cser.

If you decide to go with a second Cser don't feel guilty and don't let the Dr's talk you into anything different. The choice is completely up to you

My first baby was 9 weeks early with a c section due to pre clamysia and my son born 5 years later was a natural breach birth.

I had an emergency c section due to failing to progress, then 19 months later had the most wonderful VBAC I could ever have hoped for! I got to follow my birth plan exactly thanks to an awesome supportive doctor and midwife :-)
There is no comparison, the VBAC was so much more amazing than the c section still to this day I'm thrilled with how it went. ( DD2 is 10 months old).
My doctor suggested I go see the obst that did the emergency c section, to see if it was safe for me to try for a VBAC which he said it was, but then went on to say I'd never go into labour naturally because bub was in a poor position (the morning before my due date)and if I did I'd end up having another c section anyway (because my pelvis was just the wrong shape according to him) so he said he'd give me 7 days more and booked me in for c section at 41` weeks.
My waters broke that very night and she was born in the early hours of my due date, could not be happier with how things went especially as she is my last (cry).

Hi, I am a grandmother who had an emergency C section 24 years ago followed by a natural birth 19 months later. My first baby was very big and facing the wrong way. My doctor and I agreed that we would monitor the second pregnancy very closely as I have big babies and see how we go. Second bub was 2 weeks late and I had a 4 hour labour with no drugs or forceps so it can be done. She was still a big baby 3.755kg (8lb 4)

Your story and mine are so similar!
My 2 were 19 months apart and also DD2 (my VBAC) was 3.755kg.

Remember specialist obstetricians are surgeons and are very quick to make the decision to do surgery because for them it is probably easier plus (I know cynical) they get paid more for a c section than they a natural delivery. This is just my personal experience and opinion plus observations I've made with friends who are all in the age range of having babies.

Out of the 10-15 or so friends who have had babies in recent years, the ones with specialists have been more likely to end up with c sections, and the ones with GPs that deliver babies are much more likely to have a natural birth, so it is not necessarily right if they say you need a c section.
I was told I'd need one but proved them wrong and had a GP's support in my decision to go natural.

Definitely plan for a natural and take what comes on the day :-)

I too have a bicornuate uterus. I am pregnant with my second baby and had a c section with the first due to breech. I have been pretty much guaranteed that this baby will be breech too so will need another c section. I think the bicornuate uterus makes the decision for you. I wouldnt like to try a natural birth with a breech bacby in case something happened so will go with whatever my obs says as I know that it will be best for my baby. Good Luck

yes c section best for breech baby's, my specialist said c section for me due my shaped uterus, other doctors suggest natural, got me confused worried etc, so i rang my specialist(who is amazing fellow) he said the scan later in pregnancy will show which position bubba will be in,he has no doubt i will need a c section like i had with my 1st son, 12yr ago
