I'm only 14 but I am so excited to have a baby of my own. Is that normal?

I'm not planning on having a baby till I have finished high-school, then university and have a stable job. Recently, I had a dream I had a baby and he was asleep in his cot and I felt so much love for him, while in my dream!

Answer: I gather from your email that you’re not actually pregnant, is this right? Good on you to have such clear goals regarding finishing school and going to uni. Completing your education is the single most important thing in your life right now, there is no greater gift you can give yourself.
Dreams are funny thing. We try to make sense of them and work out what they mean but honestly, they are just our body’s way of clearing out the stuff which doesn’t matter so there’s room for all the new things we need to learn and understand.
If you know what it means to be loved and have received lots of affection and emotional connection from your parents and friends then I wonder if this is some of the reason why you felt this way towards your “dream” baby. We cannot give love unless we’ve received it, it sounds like you understand what it feels like to be important in someone (or your family’s lives).
So yes, you are normal and it sound like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. Study hard, believe in yourself and keep on having good dreams. The best place for that little baby of yours is for now, right there in your dreams. In years to come he may be a reality, but be patient. He can wait.
Best Wishes,
Jane
