Does being a plus size woman cause any risk to the baby?

My question is. im 23 and a plus size women and my husband and i are planning to start a family in the end of the year. is there any risk to a baby if your a bigger person and what are the risks to me while pregnate.

Hi Kate,
Thank you for your enquiry. Obesity can severely affect your fertility so you may find it difficult to fall pregnant. If you do fall pregnant there is a risk of developing high blood pressure and diabetes which can also affect the baby. It is advisable to try to lose some weight before you fall pregnant as you may then find it easier to get pregnant and then not be as susceptible to as many problems.
