Hi Alex,
I have an 11month old baby girl whom still doesn`t sleep through - We spent 5 nights in a hospital when she was 5 months old learning how to sleep better and it worked but she still wakes at least once/night. She is always hungary when she wakes & is now teething and has been waking up 2 sometimes 3 times a night. I know now may not be the time to do any sleep training if she is feeling sad because of her teeth (i want to comfort her when she feels terible)but i just went back to work and not sure how much longer i can wake up 2-3 times a night to re-settle/feed her! Will she grow out of this pattern or will i have to work with her to make it happen?
Unfortunately all babies are different. Some do not wake much and are very settled and most wake at least once a night. It may be a matter of her just growing out of the habit. There are many changes for growing babies such as change of diet, teething, cold and heat, illness, and just getting used to being here. They are unsettled for a relatively short part of their lives so try not to think about it too much and try to share the load of the waking with your partner and also try to take time out during the week to get some rest and then it doesn’t feel like such a burden.
Best wishes,
Alex
