I`m healthy, fit and my first pregnancy was a great success. The two pregnancies following have both ended in miscarriage. The second, painfully at 6 weeks and the third at 8 weeks. I`ve read a lot of your answers and know what you will say but I think I need reassurance from someone other than my Mum. What are my chances of the next pregnancy ending badly? I`m waiting for you to say "1 in 4" and start trying whenever you are emotionally ready.
I know that it can be really hard to suffer a miscarriage and to have a second seems unbearable. However this is sometimes part of pregnancy and trying for a healthy baby. If you do suffer another miscarriage you will need to see a specialist for more tests but two miscarriages is not regarded as abnormal or unexpected. You are at high risk of miscarriage up to around 12 weeks and then the risk is a lot lower. You will have the same risks with your next pregnancy; however, you do know that you are capable of producing a healthy pregnancy and baby so hopefully this is a short term difficulty.
