I am currently 23 weeks and I think I am having braxton hicks

hi alex, i am currently 23 weeks and i think i am having braxton hicks but as this is my first child i am not sure, it is like getting a stitch but on both sides and so tight on tummy, and i see you have mentioned walking to ease this pain, but i fell like i want to double over and when i stand up it tightens more and the pain is pretty bad - is this normal?

Answer: Hi,
Some women can feel the Braxton Hicks more than others. It is also related to the position of the baby so the discomfort may ease if the baby moves. If you are concerned it is best that you have a check up as you may have a bladder infection or similar that can cause similar pain.
