Hi,
I am now 39 weeks pregnant. And since 19 weeks I have had the braxton hicks contractions. I have also in the past 2 weeks had increased braxton hicks and i had really bad back ache with period pain a couple of nights and doctor told me that they are contractions. Though they I havnt been getting them anymore.
I have heard that when you do have alot of braxton hicks in your pregnancy and practice contractions that labour is usually faster. And may make it easier. Is this actually true?
And also why do I get braxton hicks more when i relax at night time like when i go to bed? I can sometimes get like 4-5 in an hour.
All of the pre labour braxton hicks and tightenings help your body prepare for labour. Braxton hicks help improve the blood supply to your uterus so they can be more frequent at night when you are resting. You may also notice them more when you are at rest.
Best wishes,
Alex
