One of the things I struggled with when my offspring were very small was the need to work full time in order to pay bills and the mortgage. My husband was often away for work and as you can imagine, there were some long, tough days. I longed for the chance to work from home and to do what I really loved.
Eventually when my third child arrived it became too hard and I made the leap and began working from home.
These days I am lucky enough to be able to write and juggle it round the demands of my family. I am still working on a manuscript that I hope becomes a novel one day!
I’m very proud to be employed by a brand like Huggies and even more so, that they are giving you the chance to help you develop your own ideas, while juggling work and family life.
The plan is that you pitch them your child related business idea. If it wins you will receive one of five grants valued at $20,000 to the total of $110,000.
There is also a People’s Choice Award grant that will enable you to win $10,000.
According to the site: “ Submissions for the Huggies MumInspired campaign are open from today until 1st May 2011. Mums are encouraged to submit grant applications with ideas that focus on nurturing the relationship between mother and child, and be aimed at mums with bubs aged 0-4.”
I know there are many of you out there with amazing ideas who just need a hand to get you started. This project does far more than that.
So if you have an idea or a project you’d like to get off the ground this is a fantastic opportunity to do just that. In addition, the site has great practical advice on how to set up your own business.
Fulfilling your dream could be just a few clicks away. So please check out the fine print and details and see if this is a way to make your dream come true.
Good luck!

Is this only open to Huggies Mums? or can the Dad's enter too?

The terms and conditions say that this promotion is only open to Australian residents sad are they going to let kiwi-parents enter too or will they run another competition here?

Hi,I'm Rachel from BucklePodz- safer buckle-up solutions for bub... (facebook.com/BucklePodz). What a great idea to run a muminspired grant competition. I am having so much trouble completing the forms because of a huggies technical glitch... help! i have tried to apply countless times, and every time i click "continue" to move onto step 5, the "Technical Glitch" page pops up and i loose all my step 4 entries. it's so frustrating. can someone at huggies pleeeeeeeeeeeease fix this problem? its not often i get uninterrupted time to complete long entries like this, (i have two little ones) so i would really appreciate some advice on what to do. can we apply by post? if so, is there a pdf form we can download? i cant get to step 5 or 6 to find out what the questions are. Im sure you will be onto it shortly. good luck! cant wait to apply. Rach. ~Buckle with Care~

Good question. I'll ask the promoters and let you know.

It's so good New Zealanders are wanting to get involved! Unfortunately the Huggies New Zealand team were unable to take part this year because of other commitments but I will be sure to pass your feedback onto them. Hopefully New Zealand will look at running this program in the future.

Such a shame NZ mums can't enter! Hopefully the grant will be available here soon sad

Can I clarify two points about this competition:
Lets just say you've won.
When it says you have to first offer your business to Huggies if you want to sell your business, what happens if you weren't going to sell but someone *offers* you $X for your business. Will Huggies match that $X (since you have to offer it to them first) or will they just offer you any old amount and you're obliged to take it? That could get nasty if your business gets really big and someone offers a very large amount but you are forced to take a small amount from Huggies due to the terms and conditions, and Huggies could then just sell it immediately to that first offer.
Second, it says you have to use the money for the business. It doesn't say you have to start/operate the business in Australia, just that you have to be an Australian resident. Can you use the money to operate a business overseas? It is quite possible and in some cases it is more practical to start/operate an overseas business from Australia.

Hello Alison! Hopefully that means you have won?
I too am anxiously and excitedly awaiting a reply... and cant seem to find any info about who the winners are. It would be nice to hear something, as it looks like peoples choice voting has already started, yet we have not even heard who is in, and who is not. hmmmm, my fingers are still crossed tightly!
xx good luck! Rach BucklePodz
