Hi, my son is now 2 and still using dummies regularly i have tried to stop him using them unless it's bedtime but he hides them everywhere how can i get him off them for good?

Answer: You need to make a decision that you are going to stop using them and then collect every one of them and throw them all away. If there are any secreted away then as your little one finds them, toss them out too. Holding onto one or two “just in case” can be tempting but the only real way of stopping their use is to stop them altogether.
He is likely to protest and complain, but after a couple of days of withdrawal, he will get used to not having one. If he uses one to go off to sleep, then you’ll need to offer him lots of cuddles and soothing until he learns how to go off to sleep without one. If he’s used a dummy since he was little, then expect him to be upset for a couple of days, such a well entrenched behaviour can be difficult to break but with consistency and patience from you, he will learn how to adjust to not having one.
