Without knowing more details it’s very hard to advise you. I’m guessing you mean he’s getting coughs and colds and this is causing you to feel frustrated? If he’s at childcare or exposed to other kids then it’s likely he’ll get more contagious illnesses than if he was at home with you on his own. It’s really hard to quarantine kids away from viruses and other causative organisms and just as they seem to get over one, then they get sick with another one. This is generally because of the immaturity of their immune system and because they’ve not had the opportunity to develop resistance to any of the thousands of viruses which are around. It’s important that he is seen by a doctor if he’s sick and you’re worried about him. Making sure his immune system is well supported by ensuring enough sleep, warmth, good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle is important. Kids who live in households where one or more of the parent’s smoke are more likely to become unwell with coughs and colds and ear infections.
Usually with time and maturity, kids become better at fighting off illnesses. But I’d urge you to speak with your GP or his paediatrician if you’re still concerned.
Cheers
