Many of us have been touched in some way by women’s cancer, whether personally, through a family member or a friend. Fortunately, thanks to the work done by the Cancer Council we hear a lot of stories of survival these days. Funds raised for Girls Night In, held in October each year, help the many thousands of women who are diagnosed with breast and gynecological cancers.
Be part of this fantastic fund-raising event and your contributions will help make Girls Night In an even bigger success this year. Your contribution will enable the Cancer Council to continue funding vital research into the causes of cancer and into new and improved treatments. In the past few years The Cancer Council has allocated millions of dollars to research projects specifically looking into women’s cancers. The Cancer Council also provides essential support services such as The Cancer Council Helpline (13 11 20) and education programs on prevention and detection in an effort to lessen the impact of women’s cancers on Australian communities.
Getting the girls together for a girls’ night has long been a female institution – a celebration, a time to share your feelings and dreams, a time to support and educate each other and most of all a time to escape from the everyday pressures of life.
That’s what is so great about the Cancer Council’s Girls Night In. This event is your opportunity to gather your female friends, family, colleagues and neighbours for a night of fun that also helps raise money to conduct research and provide support for sufferers of breast and gynaecological cancers.
Just invite your girl friends around for a Girls Night In during October (or close to it) and ask each of them to donate to The Cancer Council the equivalent of what they would usually spend on a night out to support women’s cancers. It’s that easy.
