I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you shouldn`t freeze rice...
Hi Leanne,
I have had great success with info from `What do I feed My Baby`, but as my little one is now getting older & I`m experimenting with different foods, I like to make extra and freeze it, I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you shouldn`t freeze rice, can you please advise if this is true, as I have found some great recipes that have rice in them but I don`t want to make extra and freeze it until I know for certain it will be safe for her to eat.
Many thanks,
Julie

Hi Julie,
That`s fab! Glad you have found my book helpful, I loved writing it!
You are right rice is considered a `hazardous food` it has certain characteristics along with the moist warm cooling period encourage bacterial growth.
It`s all in the preparation time, if you cook it well, cool it quickly and aim to keep it out of the danger temperature zone of 5-60oC, it should be fine.
So, cook well, freeze quickly!
Happy cooking!
All the best,
Leanne
