For the last week or so he has reduced his intake of formula

hi i have a 7 week old son who is bottle fed. For the last week or so he has reduced his intake of formula from 100-140 mls every 3 to 4 hrs to about 80 mls every 3 to 4 hours. Is normal.

Answer: Hi Anita, Yes, likely to be fine. Babies can swing back and forth, seemingly for no reason, with their routine. Keep offering baby his usual formula at his usual times, you should find he comes back around in due course. Altering things can mean you miss this moment of return. Interestingly, fussy times are now called the `wonder` weeks, you can find more about on this site www.cyh.com, just type the words into their search area. The main fussy times are 5, 8, 12, 17 and 26 weeks etc. Most often babies will continue to grow at their usual rate and come back to their usual routine shortly. If though you find it goes on or affects his growth then pop into see your CHN or GP. All the best, Leanne
