Are freckles part of a skin type, or a sign of sun damage?
I have a 19mnth old daughter who is very sun smart and knows that she needs her "keem on" when we go out in the sun, as well as hat, sun shirt and if we are lucky her sunnies! I am worried though as she already has freckles on her face and nose. Is it true that this hereditary (I have a freckly face) and just her skin type, or is it only a sign of sun damage?
It’s great to read that your family takes sun protection seriously.
Freckles are rare at birth and usually develop as a result of exposure to sunlight. I suggest you talk to your GP. It’s important to keep using a combination of sun protection measures to get the best protection. For example, just using sunscreen will not provide 100% protection.
