She is in excruciating pain, could this be a bit of kidney reflux?

Hey there. My name is Rhiannon I have a 3 month old baby girl Isabella and on my 19 week scan they picked up that the tube that takes the wee to the bladder on the left kidney is enlarged only by a little bit like 4mm but still she has plenty of wet nappys but she will be happy one minute and then scream the next like she is in excruciating pain could this be a bit of kidney reflux?? I can`t get in to see our doctor until mid march nearly end of march and I cant stand seeing her in pain please help any idea would be great. thanks Rhannon and bella xo

Answer: Hi Rhiannon, Thanks for contacting our organisation. Unfortunately, our group provides support and information on gastro-oesophageal reflux (GOR) rather than kidney reflux. As parents, we have no medical training or experience with that condition and so you would be much better contacting your local doctor about your concerns. They may also be able to get you in to see the specialist much earlier than your appointment as it stands. If it is your local doctor you are unable to see before mid March, with your concerns regarding the severity of her pain, please don`t hesitate to try and access medical help earlier. Always trust your mother`s instinct, and perhaps your health care nurse may be able to offer suggestions on where you can access emergency or faster care within your locality. I do not know if the screaming would be related to that, or to GOR, or to something else entirely so please talk to your doctor about that as well as the possibility of kidney reflux. Is your daughter showing any signs of GOR? You will find a list of signs on our website at www.reflux.org.au which may be able to help answer that for you. I hope you are able to get to the bottom of the screaming and the other issues, and I hope she feels better soon. Glenda
