Finn LOVES animals!
So we though why not create an Australian Native animal’s themed room. This design suits from baby/toddler through to early childhood depending on your child’s likes and interests.
The main feature of Finn’s room is the magical gum tree at the end of the bed. This was created using a single strip of leftover timber flooring and cut and shaped into a tree trunk. We then used wall decals sourced online to make a few branches and leaves. Australian native animal decals were sourced from BoscoBear. The look was finished with a crescent shaped moon nightlight from IKEA which a bat swoops close to. Finn loves to tell me what all the animals are!
On the other wall is a fun giant life-size Kangaroo wall decal. There are Australian native birds and a frog sitting above the bedroom door frame. A ringtail possum hangs from the book shelf. Unique wooden hand painted Australian animals bookends were sourced online completing the bookshelf.
Bedding was tricky to find but discovered on EBAY. If you had trouble sourcing themed bedding plain would look equally great.
Overall we were delighted with how the room turned out! We are moving house soon and sadly will be leaving the themed room behind – as Finn is growing older now (3.5yrs) it’s probably time for a change soon anyway – to win this competition would be wonderful to help create him a new room in the new house and help him settle in.
