We`ve tried being very firm and we tried being very nice. We are at a loss...

I have a 2 and a half year old who has always been a fairly good sleeper she went in a bed about 2 months ago. She didn`t like it at first but got used to it quickly. Now for the last 2-3 weeks she has been very bad at sleep time. She just cries and cries and won`t stay in bed it takes us 2 hours to get her to sleep every night. Plus she wakes up during the night and does the same thing over again. We have tried asking her if theirs something in her room she doesn`t like. we tried sitting with her we tried to put a night light in her room she didn`t want it. We`ve tried being very firm and we tried being very nice.We are at a loss do you have any suggestions on how we can get our nights back?

Answer: Hi, Unfortunately firm is the one that is required otherwise she will know she can run all over you and get her way. You need to have a routine of dinner, bath, quiet play, 2 stories and then good night. If she gets up you must continually quickly and quietly put her back over and over again just letting her know it`s time to sleep.Children thrive on having boundaries set for them. Cheers, Maree
