She stopped sleeping during the day, now she won`t settle at night

I am having difficulty with my 17 month old daughter til 3 weeks ago she settled without a problem. Then she stopped sleeping during the day ( had been going from 1pm till 230pm) now she wont settle at night. We havent changed her routine at all - drink teeth story then down - but as soon as we put her down in her cot she starts screaming, we tried letting her go for increasing intervals but its taking 2 hours+ of constant crying. when we go in we dont pick her up, turn on lights & keep talking to a mimimum. Now she has begun to stand and hit her head against the cot, tonight when I picked her up after she did so she head butted me very hard several times. Im 26 weeks pregnant with our second child & am finding it exhusting physically & emotionally. I have no family living close enough to help.
Thank you Chantelle

Answer: Hi Chantelle, It`s hard to say why the sudden change. Do be guided by tired signs and act on those for her day time nap at this age she would still be needing one nap. I would suggest you try our settling program for 6 to 12 months since she is still in a cot, it offers a clear and repetitive message that it`s time to sleep. Do be sure you cover all possibilities of illness or teething pain before commencing any new settling program first. You can get details for our It`s Time To Sleep settling program from Your Baby`s Sleep or www.itstimetosleep.com Cheers, Maree
