How can I get her to sleep longer through the night?

Hi Maree
Abigail is now 3 months and is still waking 3 - 4 hourly most nights for a bottle. She is still only having 120mls of S26. I have tried to increase her amount during the day and have been successful a couple of times. I have no trouble getting her to sleep in her cot, she is wonderful to put down, but how can I get her to sleep longer through the night.

Answer: Hi Tracey, You might still expect to be offering one or two overnight feeds at this age, give it another month and you could expect her to drop one of those feeds and by 6 months you could expect her to be sleeping through the night. The best advice I can offer you is always settle her awake into the cot after these night feeds and follow a feed/play/sleep routine replacing play at night with a nappy change, this way you know baby can sleep independently (she does during the day it seems) and when she is ready to sleep longer at night she will know how to. Cheers, Maree
