She has an ill mum, I was wondering if this might have anything to do with her sleep problem
My grandaughter is 2 years old and does not and has not ever sleep a night through she wakes at least 2 or 3 times a night and wants he bottle we try to encourage her to drink other drink such as water but she just won`t settle without her milk. She has an ill mum that is very stressed at time I was wondering if this might have anything to do with her sleep problem. She loves her own bed but won`t sleep in it on her own.
If you could give me some ideas to help her I would be very greatful.
Thank you so much.
These things are all her sleep associations and for things to change your daughter will need to make changes and perhaps with your help. Children thrive on a regular routine and set boundaries. She needs to have dinner bath quiet play 2 stories and lights out on her own. If she falls asleep with someone she wakes on her light sleep (as we all do ) and she can`t resettle without that comfort again so she looks for a drink of milk and mums comfort and that is her sleep association. Imagine you went to sleep in your bed and woke up in the bath!! You`d get a fright and want to resettle back to your familiar comfort- same for your grandaughter. I hope this helps you understand why this happens.
