Should he still be having a bottle at 3.30am?

I have a 16mth old boy and he has a bottle before bed about 6.30-7pm then goes to bed about 7-7.30pm he normally sleeps till about 2.30-3.30am then wants a bottle then can take from 10min to 30min to re-settle then wakes somewhere between 6.30-7.30am is this normal? should he still be having a bottle at 3.30am? He still has a dummy also. I have tried resettling without a bottle but give up, as I have a 4.5 yrs old and sometimes just need the sleep.

Answer: Hi, He really should be able to sleep through from 7pm to7am without an overnight feed from about 6 months. As long as you continue to offer the bottle he will probably continue to wake for it. It`s hard when you have other children I know but it may only take a week or so. Try our settling techniques for 6 to 12 months when he protests. Cheers, Maree
