I've just turned 41 and I am 36 wks pregnant with our third child (other 2 were natural delivery). As I am "over 40" I am being encouraged to have my membranes swept at 37 weeks to avoid medical induction at 40 weeks. I do not feel comfortable with this approach and would like to give my baby and body the opportunity to start labour naturally. I have read a lot of research on this topic and found that this process is used when the baby is overdue and have not any evidence where it was used due to age. Is this "over 40" a new flavour of the month in the whole pregnancy world?
