placenta growth Lock Rss

i am 17 weeks and have been told i have a big placenta, what does this mean for the birth? and i am having alot of pain could this be related?
Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry. The placenta’s size is generally about 1/6 the weight of the baby so if your placenta is larger than average so is your baby. The placenta usually causes no problems during the pregnancy with any pain. You may have a fibroid present in your uterus and this can cause discomfort during pregnancy. Please discuss your concerns with your carers.

Best wishes,
Alex.
