hypnotherapy for labour Lock Rss

this might sound like a silly question, but being a midwife have you known of any women who have undergone hypnotherapy for labour/birth and has it made any difference that you can tell. i seem to almost have panic attacks in labour (as it progresses) but would like to be able to stay a bit calmer even if i do need pain relief. i have heard people say it's great but i don't personally know of anyone who can help. thanks
Thank you for your enquiry. Hypnotherapy is an excellent way to focus your mind during
labour and birth. It has been used for several years by many women and they state that there are definite benefits. Here is a link to a directory listing of services providing hypnobirthing.

I know a woman who used hypnotherapy before and during birth and she stated that she did not need to use another forms of pain relief. She said that it felt like an easy labour for her because she concentrated on what she was told to and her music that she chose. She said that if she had another child that she would use the hypnotherapy again.
