pro-lapsed vagina Lock Rss

I would like to know what is a pro-lapsed vagina.
I was told it was from being consipated and heavy pushing can cause the side of your vagina to collapse, is this true, and will it affect a vaginal birth.
Thankyou

Hi Denise,
A prolapsed uterus is when the cervix comes down very low into the vagina and sometimes protrudes from the vagina. This is very uncommon to happen in pregnancy, it is more likely to happen in old age as a result of a weak pelvic floor. Keep up the pelvic floor exercises before and after the birth and it hopefully will be avoided.
Best wishes,
Alex.
