grazing? Rss

My son seems to prefer to graze all day - instead of eating his lunch all at once he will eat a bit at a time over a 30min to 1 hr period. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have just come across your question and as a mum to a 3 year old who hasn't yet sat down to a real meal, if he's healthy, happy and not eating rubbish all the time, what's the problem? My daughter is a continual grazer and has been since she started solids, I asked my doctor as her father was worried because she never seemed to eat much and the doctor told us the same thing I just told you. Go with your gut and don;t let anyone tell you that you're doing anything wrong.

Did you know that grazing is actually the best way to eat for us as well? The more times you eat during the day the more efficient your metabolism becomes which can save weight issues later. If the food is nutritionally valuable the grazing won't hurt at all. Children at this age don't need that much food and often prefer to play rather than sit still for long periods of time. Go with it.
