Skill for Bub: Mind builder
Ribbons twirling to the beat of the music is a treat for a young baby’s eyes and ears.
Even though your baby can’t see too far just yet, she’ll get plenty of visual stimulation from this dazzling display of ribbons. Tie several 8-inch strips in a variety of colors and styles (shiny, matte, lace, striped, polka-dotted, etc) to a wooden ruler or spoon handle. Hold them in front of your baby and swing them around to the rhythm of the music. In addition to developing her sight and hearing, you can increase her sense of body awareness by gently moving the ribbons across your baby’s face, arms, and legs. Those little kicks and coos will let you know how much she’s enjoying herself!
