12WBT. Countdown to Kickoff!
On Monday the 12WBT programme has its official kick off. I’ve spent the past couple of weeks working my way through the tasks. By far, the most confronting was taking a photo of myself and seeing the truth about how out of shape I am. Ugh. Denial has definitely been my friend lately. I’ve been in the habit of only looking at myself in the mirror from the neck up, and this photo forced me to see what I’d been avoiding. It wasn’t pretty.
So after having a little sob, I set to work. I have written in my food and exercise programme for the week ahead. I am pleased that the exercise programme, while challenging, isn’t as terrifying as I first thought. Everyone on the forums has been so helpful and encouraging. I am certainly not the only person with a test ahead of them during the next few weeks, that’s for sure.
I’m not sure how I will juggle little ones, forthcoming school holidays, work and my commitment to the programme, but I have been working on planning ahead for that. Michelle is very clear that diarizing and planning for “road-bumps” is vital to making the programme a success. I have joined a local Perth based 12WBT facebook group and will be joining in lots of the activities they run here as well.
I also know that after a long day, a weakness of mine is looking for something, preferably something sweet, to eat in the afternoons. Cutting that out is going to be interesting that’s for sure! I’ve promised myself I will log into the forums rather than foraging through the fridge. So if you’re on there make sure you remind me to be strong!
What’s your biggest challenge when it comes to doing the 12WBT and how do you plan to tackle it?
