Danielle from the Red Cross joins the mums to demonstrate what to do to treat some of the most common emergencies in a home with young children – choking, poisons and burns. She recommends that every home should have a fully stocked first aid kit, but more importantly, every parent should know how to use what’s inside and that means doing a first aid course.

She provided a demonstration of what to do in the event of choking and reminded us that if you suspect your child has swallowed a poison, you should call the Poisons Information Line for advice immediately, 13 11 26 (AUS) or *24 Hour *Poisons Information Line: 0800 764 766 (NZ).
