I`ve started bleeding heavier like a normal period, should I be concerned?

I`m currently 6w 5d pregnant, ive been spotting since monday night seen dr tue and was told to wait to see if i miscarry, i had an ultrasound today and fetus is too small to tell us if it has a heart beat or not but it looks like a healthy pregnancy and normal gestation but since this morning ive started bleeding heavier like a normal period, should i be concerned or just wait

Answer: Hi, Thank you for your enquiry. As many as one in four pregnancies miscarry in the early weeks so this may be what is happening to you. If you are bleeding heavily and experiencing strong cramps it is advisable to see your GP for a check up or even just notify them that this is happening. If you are a negative blood group you will need an injection of anti D. If the bleeding settles you still need to see your GP for assessment. There are quite a few instances where a woman has bled heavily in early pregnancy and gone on to have a healthy baby. Best wishes, Alex
