I have been told that I could bleed excessively during labour

Hi Alex,
Im hoping you can put my mind at ease as im not able to see my dr for a little while.
Over the past 3 years or so i have had a slightly low platelet count of around 126 and recently i have had my first blood test after discovering i am pregnant and have been told that it is still slightly low and it will have to be monitored throughout my pregnancy as i could bleed excessively during labour. Now im starting to panic.
Could this just be my normal range and i have nothing to worry about or am i right to be a little scared??
Please help rest my mind :)
Thank you
Christie

Answer: Hi Christie, Your level is on the lower range of normal. Try not to worry. Your carers will monitor your levels during the pregnancy to avoid any complications. Best wishes, Alex
