I don`t want to be induced, I believe bub will arrive when it`s ready

Hi there,
I`m now 40 weeks pregnant and my OB wants to schedule me in for an induction. I don`t want to be induced, since I believe ub will arrive when it is ready. Provided it doesn`t harm the baby, can I keep carrying until baby arrives on its own accord?

Answer: Hi, You need to be really sure about your dates and then you can go up to 14 days past your due date quite safely. You may need some extra checks on the baby, such as a monitor (CTG)or a scan but otherwise it is always better to let your body go into labour on its own. IF you fell pregnant in a longer cycle (greater than 28 days) your due date is later than the usual 40 weeks. Many women go into labour in the first week after the baby was due. Best wishes, Alex
