Is there any risk flying with a low lying placenta?

Hi, I am 21 weeks pregnant and had my 18-20 week scan. I was told my placenta is marginally low lying. I am due to travel to my country this week, is there any problem with flying with this. any advice to make this normal.

Answer: Hi, There is no reason not to treat the pregnancy as normal. Flying is fine. You may need a repeat scan later in the pregnancy to check the position of the placenta again. Usually it rises as the uterus expands. Best wishes, Alex
