Are there any set rules of correct sleeping position later in pregnancy?

Hi Alex,
Are there any set rules as to the correct sleeping position later in pregnancy. i am currently 27 weeks and have been trying to stay on my left side with a pillow between my knees. I find I am waking up all night worried that I am laying on my back and I might be doing something wrong. I am not uncomfortable on my back (yet!!) and was wondering if it is ok to sleep on my back as long as it is comfortable.

Answer: Hi Mel,
You can sleep in any position that you find comfortable. The only reason sleeping or lying on your back is considered dangerous is that the weight of the baby can lean on a major blood vessel in your body and make you feel faint or dizzy. If this is not happening then you can sleep on your back.
Best wishes,
Alex
