My doctor has told me that i will be unlikely to go full term

Hi, i have congenital renal dysplasia and have had high blood pressure for about five years my blood pressure has been pretty good throughout the pregnancy and i am now 24 weeks. My doctor has told me that i will be unlikely to go full term and i was just wondering does this mean that i have to have a ceasarean because i really want to have a natural birth. Thanks Laura

Answer: Hi Laura, It does not necessarily indicate that you will need a caesarean. If you go over 32 weeks you have a good chance of having a vaginal birth. If your baby has to be born very early usually a caesarean is performed. Best wishes, Alex
