I have a 2 month old, is it okay to put a teat or pacifier in his mouth?

hi alex i hav 2month old newborn boy my question is that is it healthy to put a teat or pacifier in his mounth specially when i`m engaged in any work. he is totally on breastfeeding so sumtimes it is very difficult for me when i used to go outside

Answer: Hi, If you are breast feeding it is not recommended to introduce a dummy too early. However, if the baby is well established with feeding and doing well a dummy is fine. It needs to be cleaned with warm soapy water and preferably put in the dishwasher or sterilized each day. If you need to be away from your baby for short periods it is advisable to try to express some milk to give the baby so that you can relax and know that he will be fine. Best wishes, Alex
