I am concerned this time as the doctor wants me to have a spinal block

Hello Alex,
I am 27 weeks pregnant with my third child.I have been advised by the specialist that the only option I have for delivery is via cesarean as my previous 2 children were delivered this way. I have a small pelvic bone and found i had 2 have both chn via cesarean. I am concerned this time as the doctor wants me to have a spinal block. I have heard so many bad stories and am wondering if having an epidural is the better option. Thankyou
Tammy

Answer: Hi Tammy, A spinal block is very similar to an epidural. It carries similar risks and it is also very effective. It really depends on the doctor as it tends to be their preference and what they may be better at. Best wishes, Alex
