Is there such a thing as a walking epidural?

I ma currently 33 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am classed as high risk due to having I.T.P.... I was wondering if there is such a thing called a walking epidural? I have heard about this and am interested in putting it in my birth plan, but i would like some more info on it..

Answer: Hi Jade, Thank you for your enquiry. It is advisable to talk to your carers to see if this is something that is used at your place of birth. It is not used extensively in all hospitals. It is worth talking to your carers and the hospital about your care during labour and birth as they can help you formulate a birth plan that will fit in with the choices available. Best wishes, Alex
