Do you know when I need to start taking the clexane?

Hi Alex,
Just a quick question about using Clexane during pregnancy. I have family hx of DVT and fatal PEs. Apparenty I have some sort of "clotting disorder" but they have no idea what. I had numerous blod tests etc. I had a DVT and small PE last year and was on clexane and warfarin and am now only on aspirin 100mg SID. I am now 5wks pregnant with our 2nd baby. I know I have to go on clexane during the pregnancy as a prevention. Do you know when I need to start taking the clexane? I`ve heard its a 10 weeks but in the meantime I`m waiting about 4 weeks just to see my doctor and haematoligist so I`m a bit concerned I might beleaving it a bit late.
Thankyou

Answer: Hi, Thank you for your enquiry. It is advisable to discuss this with your GP and they can advise on your recommended regime for aspirin and Clexane. It can be a bit different for each person and some can stay on the s=aspirin for longer and others start the Clexane straight away. The low dose aspirin is safe to take for now but it would be good to check up if you need to start the Clexane earlier. Best wishes, Alex
